We Love Where We Rent: Tim and Conor

We LOVE Where We Rent, Resident Blog Series.

Say hello to Tim & Conor our wonderful residents who've lived with us since 2016.

Please tell us a little bit about yourselves?

Tim: I’m an experienced, senior Diversity & Inclusion professional, currently working in the tech industry. Have quite a wide range of interests, including travel, music, reading, gaming, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, human/civil rights to name a few!

Conor: I moved to London in 2002 and started working for an Irish bank in Finance. Almost 22 years later I'm still at the bank and now manage the Reporting team. My passions are travel, theatre and eating out.

What’s the #1 lesson you’ve learned in your career that still holds true to today?

Conor: Be YOU and not to be too hard on yourself.

Tim: Lean-in to change and don’t be afraid when life throws you a curve-ball, somehow things tend to work out in the end.

What’s been your favourite holiday or trip?

Tim: It’s difficult to choose, but Japan is most definitely a favourite, along with several ‘go-to’ cities in Spain, France and Greece. Morocco also holds a special place in my heart.

Conor: Love lots of places Spain, Greece or Japan. Loved our trip to Santorini in 2023 it was magical.

Do you have any places on your bucket list?

Tim: Would love to visit Antarctica and also to tour the ancient sites of Egypt.

Conor: For me, I’d say Australia/New Zealand.

If you could have 3 famous or notable people to lunch, who would they be and why?

Conor: My three would be:

Joan Rivers – I’d love to just have a drink or two and chat about her life.

Freddie Mercury – Would love to have meet him and seen him live in concert. We saw Adam Lambert and Queen at Wembley Arena and they were phenomenal, but nothing like Freddie Mercury.

Leonardo da Vinci - As I'd love to see how his mind works.

Tim: For me it would be:

Hayao Miyazaki – I’ve been a fan of Studio Ghibli anime movies since I was a child (and love visiting their museum in Mitaka, Japan), so would love to meet Miyazaki-san in person and explore his imagination.

Harvey Milk and Marsha P. Johnson – I’m going to be cheeky and choose two pioneers of the LGBTQIA+ rights movement together. Two activists that I would have been fascinated to have met, if nothing else so they would be able to see the progress that’s been made since their time.

Mary Robinson – Now whilst I have actually met her briefly, I would love to spend time hearing about her time as the first woman President of Ireland and then her experiences as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

What’s your best memory you’ve made whilst living here?

Both: Alongside making lots of friends, having our wedding reception on one of the Quintain Living rooftops was a very special memory for us.

What’s your favourite thing to do in Wembley Park?

Both: There’s so much to do in Wembley Park. We regularly have brunch at Bread Ahead and meet friends for drinks at the White Horse or Hilton SkyBar. It’s also great to catch a show at the Troubadour Theatre with a bite to eat (and some live music) at their StudioFive restaurant.

Why did you choose Quintain Living? & how did you hear about us?

Both: We were already living in Wembley and saw the developments around the Stadium take shape over the years. We liked the look of the new buildings (back in 2016 there were only 2 buildings, now there’s 8 or more!) and met with the Leasing team from Quintain Living to discuss options. We were made to feel welcome right from the start.

What’s been your favourite resident event that Quintain Living has hosted?

Both: We loved the first MasterChef supperclub that was held with Billy & Jack from Masterchef and also the big Christmas resident party at the end of 2019. We’re also both big fans of the Paint & Prosecco events as they’re fun and we find being creative a good way to help with positive mental health (for example, the virtual version of paint and prosecco classes Quintain Living put on during lockdown were really important to us). Whilst not strictly a Quintain Living event, we also enjoy the annual Wembley Park Pride Festival as it’s always a really fun day.
